Make your sacrifice for Palestine

A Qurbani of Mercy and Survival

iF-Qurbani-2026-Digital-Banner-Website

This Eid ul-Adha, the families of Gaza face a reality unlike any other. With the collapse of local food systems and the loss of nearly 90% of the region’s livestock, the traditional act of Qurbani has become nearly impossible to perform locally. At iF Charity, we believe that even amidst siege and hardship, the Sunnah of Ibrahim (as) can continue and bring nourishment and joy to the most vulnerable. By using tinned Qurbani meat, we are providing a life-saving solution that bypasses the lack of electricity, refrigeration, and fuel in Gaza.

What is Qurbani?

Qurbani means sacrifice. Qurbani and Udhiyya are used to describe the act of sacrifice on Eid ul Adha.

Every year during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the globe sacrifice an animal – a goat, sheep, cow or camel – to reflect the Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh)’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, for the sake of God.

In accordance to Shariah, at least one third of the meat from the animal must go to poor or vulnerable people. Traditionally, a Muslim would keep one third of the meat for their family and give the final third to their neighbours, friends and family.

Who needs to do Qurbani?

It is recommended all sane, adult Muslims with the financial means to do so complete the act of Qurbani/Udhiyya during Eid ul Adha.

How does iF Charity complete my Palestine Qurbani?

This is a Shariah Compliant Qurbani that happens outside of Gaza and is then delivered into Palestine. The process of Qurbani is completed during the days of Eid ul Adha.

How many animals do I need to sacrifice to complete a Qurbani?

A Qurbani is considered the sacrifice of one small animal or a share in a large animal (usually 1/7 is a share). The prices provide refer to one Qurbani and that is what you need to complete your religious duty.

Is tinned Qurbani Shariah-compliant?

Yes. Your religious obligation is fully met. We ensure that all sacrifices are performed during the prescribed days of Eid al-Adha in India and Australia. Thousands of cows are slaughtered according to strict Islamic guidelines. The meat is then immediately processed, tinned, and sealed to ensure it reaches Gaza in a state that is both Halal and healthy.

Why donate your Qurbani through iF Charity?

Because your qurbani will:

  • Revive the Sunnah: Honor the sacrifice of Ibrahim (as).
  • Combat Malnutrition: Provide essential protein to those facing acute hunger.
  • Ease Financial Burdens: Livestock prices are at an all-time high; your donation provides meat to those who could never afford it.
  • Transparency: Every step of the process, from slaughter to distribution, is documented to ensure your Amanah is delivered with integrity.

Why are you sending tinned meat instead of fresh meat?

Gaza’s infrastructure has been devastated. Currently:

  • No Refrigeration: Constant electricity shortages mean fresh meat would spoil within hours.
  • No Fuel: Many families lack the gas or wood required to cook raw meat.
  • Ready-to-Eat: Our tinned meat is pre-cooked and ready to consume, making it the most practical and dignified solution for displaced families living in tents or ruins.

Why can’t the Qurbani be performed inside Gaza?

The livestock population in Gaza has been decimated; cattle, sheep, and goat herds are almost entirely gone. With borders frequently sealed, importing live animals is currently restricted and unsustainable. By performing the slaughter in other places (such as India and Egypt), we can guarantee the quality and quantity of the meat while ensuring the logistics of canning are handled in certified, high-standard factories.

How does the meat actually get into Gaza?

We work in partnership with other trusted charities and international agencies. Once the meat is tinned and preserved, it is shipped to entry points such as Jordan or Egypt. From there, it is transported via aid corridors directly into the Gaza Strip for distribution to the families who need it most.

How long does it take for the meat to be distributed?

While the sacrifice happens on the days of Eid, the canning, shipping, and border clearances take time. Under normal conditions, the tinned meat reaches the beneficiaries within 60 to 180 days. This ensures that families receive high-quality protein not just during Eid, but throughout the year when food shortages are most acute.

How much meat is in each tin?

Each tin contains 800g of high-quality meat. This is a substantial amount, designed to provide multiple nutrient-dense meals for a family.

How much should I donate?

iF Charity will be distribution meat, food, water during Eid Al Adha and beyond. We are asking donors to participate in our efforts to do so in the best way they can. Your contribution provides protein, dignity, and a reminder to the people of Gaza that they are not forgotten.
