Restoring Sustenance and Lifelines in Gaza

Though a ceasefire was announced in October 2025, the reality on the ground remains an agonising struggle for survival. Over 73,000 people have been reported killed in Gaza since the war began, including more than 21,000 children. Even under the current ceasefire framework, the violence has not fully ceased; over 1,000 people, including 265 children, have been reported killed since its implementation proving that a ceasefire on paper does not automatically guarantee safety in daily life.

Families are repeatedly confined to ever smaller spaces, driven by military-imposed access restrictions and airstrikes that recently ignited fires consuming hundreds of tents. The erosion of household resilience is compounding daily. Meanwhile, uncollected solid waste and crowded conditions have triggered severe health crises, including over 9,000 reported cases of chickenpox across 130 health facilities in a two-week period alone.

Amidst this profound breakdown of society, IF Charity is working tirelessly to provide essential lifelines, focused on nutrition, clean water, and the survival of Gaza’s younger generation.

Essential Nourishment: Reaching Families with Hot Meals and Protein

Food shortages across the Gaza Strip have reached catastrophic levels, leaving vulnerable households completely cut off from basic nutrition. Protein has become an impossible luxury due to the complete collapse of local infrastructure and extreme market inflation. To directly combat this severe deprivation, IF Charity executed relief operation in June 2026, specifically delivering freshly prepared hot meals of meat and rice to displaced and vulnerable families across Gaza.

In tandem with these hot meals, we have entered crowded refugee camps to distribute high-quality frozen meat packages directly to displaced families facing severe hardship. These combined protein interventions have brought vital relief and physical comfort to thousands of individuals struggling with limited food access.

Fighting Malnutrition: Fresh Vegetable Baskets and the Human Right to Water

Beyond basic rations, ensuring a multi-faceted, healthy diet is vital to prevent long-term developmental delay among children and malnutrition among the elderly. In June 2026, IF Charity distributed fresh vegetable baskets packed with nutrient dense produce including tomatoes, potatoes, onions, and aubergines to vulnerable households. This initiative successfully promoted healthy eating habits and provided essential vitamins and minerals during a time when fresh produce is incredibly scarce.

Together with dietary nutrition, addressing water scarcity is paramount. Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, yet it remains critically scarce across the Strip. To protect public health, IF Charity is continuously distributing fresh drinking water to IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) and affected families in central Gaza. Providing clean water is a crucial baseline necessity for maintaining hygiene, enabling cooking, and actively preventing the outbreak of deadly waterborne diseases among highly vulnerable populations.

Rebuilding Childhood: Food Parcels and our “Education Reborn” Lifeline

The long-term human cost of this conflict heavily burdens Gaza’s children, who continue to pay the heaviest price. More than 637,000 children remain completely cut off from learning, with 93 percent of schools destroyed or damaged by years of bombardment. No new schools, homes, or hospitals have been successfully built since the ceasefire announcement, effectively stalling recovery. Children face constant displacement some families moving up to 20 times in less than three years leaving an entire generation carrying psychological and physical scars that could last a lifetime.

To secure their immediate survival while preserving their future, IF Charity is distributing essential dry food parcels containing vital staples like rice, oil, and sugar. This foundational food security directly underpins our expanded Education Reborn initiative. Launched last year to keep learning alive in the darkest of times, Education Reborn originally focused on providing school supplies, building clean toilets for children in camps, and supporting displaced teachers with resources and salaries.

Today, because survival and learning must go hand in hand, our mission has expanded. We are combining educational restoration with the delivery of food, water, and safe spaces. This holistic support ensures that children receive not only books and lessons, but also bread, clean water, dignity, and the space to dare to dream again like 11-year-old Zuhair, who hopes to become an engineer to rebuild the destroyed homes of his community.
