Gaza: Food parcels and meal distribution this week
For five long months, the people of Gaza have endured extreme hunger and unimaginable hardship. With little to no aid entering the region, families have been forced to survive on almost nothing. Kitchens fell silent, markets were empty, and mothers were left with nothing to offer their children but prayers.
Last week, thanks to your unwavering support, IF Charity was able to deliver critical food assistance to hundreds of Gaza’s most vulnerable people. Our field teams acted swiftly, sourcing supplies from the few distributors who had received limited aid deliveries this week.
From this, we prepared and distributed food parcels to displaced families – many of whom had not received help in months. These parcels are a lifeline for families on the brink.
Alongside this, we were finally able to reopen our communal kitchens. With basic ingredients now in hand, our team began preparing and distributing hot meals once again. This marked the first time in weeks that many children and elderly people were able to eat a freshly cooked meal. For families who have endured such relentless hardship, these meals brought a small but powerful sense of normality.
The need on the ground remains staggering. According to the United Nations, famine is already occurring in northern Gaza and is expected to spread to other areas, including Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis, by the end of September. The latest analysis shows that every single person in Gaza is facing some level of acute food insecurity. More than one-third of the population is now experiencing catastrophic levels of hunger.
UN agencies have also reported that over 2,000 people – many of them young men and boys – have lost their lives while trying to reach aid distribution points. Others have died along convoy routes, desperately searching for food. Despite the risks, families continue to seek whatever help they can find. And this is why the safe and fair distribution of aid, by organisations like IF Charity, is important.

The ongoing bombardment across the region further complicates the situation. Homes, shelters, and even aid convoys have been struck, making it increasingly difficult for humanitarian agencies to carry out life-saving work. Recent announcements from Israeli authorities declaring Gaza City a “combat zone” have further restricted humanitarian access and halted previously agreed aid corridors.
But despite these immense challenges, your generosity is bringing light in the darkest of times. With your support, we have been able to deliver urgent food parcels and hot meals directly to those most in need. The images captured by our field team last week show the immediate impact of your donations: children smiling with warm food in their hands, and parents relieved to see their families fed once more.
Looking ahead, the people of Gaza still face urgent and growing needs. More food parcels must be prepared. More hot meals must be cooked and distributed. And above all, we must continue to do everything in our power to ensure aid reaches those who need it most.
Your support today can help us sustain this vital work. Please continue to stand with the people of Gaza. Donate now to help us deliver food, restore hope, and provide comfort in the days ahead.
Every pound you give makes a difference. Help us feed Gaza.
