Qurbani for Palestine: How we plan to send meat to Gaza
This Eid ul-Adha, your Qurbani can bring nourishment, dignity, and joy to families in Gaza – even amid siege and starvation. With Gaza’s livestock decimated and humanitarian access severely restricted, tinned Qurbani meat is not only the most practical option – it’s often the only one left.
Why tinned meat?
Due to the ongoing blockade and the relentless attack on Gaza since October 2023, Gaza’s food system has collapsed. Livestock – once central to local Qurbani – has all but vanished. In recent months, most animals were consumed for survival, as families faced acute hunger. Now, with borders sealed, it is nearly impossible to import new animals for local sacrifice.
Electricity remains scarce. Fuel is limited. And refrigeration is unreliable at best. Fresh meat, even when available, spoils quickly, leaving families at risk. That’s why IF Charity has turned to tinned Qurbani meat: safe, long-lasting, and ready to eat.
These cans provide nutritious protein that can sustain families not just for a day, but for weeks or even months. And for displaced households without access to kitchens or clean water, they are a life-saving solution.
We will, however, perform some sacrifices in the Gaza Strip. These will be extremely costly, but will ensure fresh meat can be delivered on the days of Eid. You can choose to donate a 2kg meat parcel.
A fully Shariah-compliant process
Your Qurbani is performed with care and reverence. We carry out sacrifices during the days of Eid in India and Australia, where thousands of cows are slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines. The meat is then processed, sealed in tins, and shipped via Jordan directly into Gaza.
This is a Shariah-compliant Qurbani – fulfilling your religious duty while ensuring your sacrifice reaches those who need it most.

Our team is on the ground
We hope you consider donating your Qurbani this year to families in Gaza who have lost everything – their homes, livelihoods, and access to food.
IF Charity staff are working inside Gaza, coordinating with local partners to ensure timely and dignified distribution. Despite the dangers, we are delivering food, water, medicine, and all other forms of aid to shelters, orphanages, and communities cut off from aid. Much of this aid is sourced locally or is flowing in very slowly across the borders.
