Marrakech Marathon 2025: Sweat, Sand, and Solidarity: Our Story
The Marrakech Marathon 2025 was an unforgettable challenge, demanding incredible effort and passion from our courageous team. Running through the ancient city streets and past the vibrant palm groves, our participants battled the heat and distance, driven by a powerful sense of solidarity with the cause.
Mission Accomplished: Total Funds Raised
Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our runners and the tremendous generosity of their supporters, we have surpassed all expectations, raising an incredible £11,000. These vital funds were immediately put to work supporting IF Charity’s Winter Emergency efforts in the region, providing crucial relief to alleviate suffering.
Hearing from Our Heroes: Voices from the Finish Line:
‘Enjoyed the run, plenty of vibes in the marathon!’
‘The trip was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and we were all very well looked after.’
‘While I was at the last kilometer of the marathon, it reminded me that everything in life will come to an end so make the journey worthwhile and serve a good purpose. It made me appreciate everything a lot more and realise what Palestinians have to go through.’
‘Running a marathon or half marathon is tough especially in the heat! But it’s nothing compared to the daily struggle of the people we supported. Knowing that every step meant something for a family in Gaza made me push through it’.
‘I took part in the event to help the cause and as sadaqah jaariyah on behalf of my late grandmother, who always taught me the value of giving back. I smashed my target goal and I’m so proud of what we accomplished together.’
‘The atmosphere in Marrakech was electric on race day, but that heat was brutal! It was a real test of endurance, but seeing people from all over and the amazing crowd that cheered us on throughout the race gave me the mental boost I needed to cross the line’.
‘That feeling when you see the finish line is unbelievable. Although you are exhausted, it’s a sigh of relief knowing you are almost there which makes you run a little faster! And then receiving that medal knowing you have accomplished the challenge, an experience I’ll never forget.’
