Enduring Hardships: Life in Gaza
Living in Gaza is marked by overwhelming hardships. This densely populated strip of land, home to nearly two million Palestinians, faces a humanitarian crisis of unprecedented magnitude.
Palestinians endure severe shortages of essential resources, including clean water, electricity, and medical supplies. Daily power cuts, often lasting up to 16 hours, disrupt daily life, rendering it nearly impossible to store food or have access to vital services.
Unemployment rates in Gaza are alarmingly high, with nearly half of the population unable to secure employment. Limited economic opportunities, coupled with restrictions on the movement of people and goods, have stifled economic growth, plunging many residents into poverty.
The blockade and wars have caused extensive damage to infrastructure as well as inflicted emotional trauma, particularly on children.
