Walk for Nakba: Honouring 78 Years, Walking for Justice
Friday 15th May 2026 marks the 78th anniversary of the Nakba—the “catastrophe” that fundamentally reshaped Palestinian history. After the incredible response to our collective action last year, we are returning as a global community to turn remembrance into meaningful support.
We invite you to join Team IF for our 2026 Annual Walk for Nakba Challenge. Together, we are building a legacy of solidarity that grows stronger with every passing year.
Our 2026 Mission: 78 Minutes of Solidarity
To honour the 78 years since the displacement of 1948, we are asking our supporters to dedicate 78 minutes to walking on May 15th. This is a virtual, global event—you can walk in your local neighbourhood, at a park, on a treadmill, or gather a group to walk together at a time that suits you. As we walk, we carry the stories of the past and the hope for a just future.
We encourage everyone to wear their kufiyahs or fly Palestinian flags, turning our streets into a visible map of support.
Turning Steps into Support
Every step we take is an act of advocacy, but every pound we raise is a lifeline. Our goal is to provide Emergency Aid to Palestinians facing unprecedented challenges.
- Our Fundraising Target: We aim for each participant to raise a minimum of £50.
- The Power of Small Acts: This year, we are reminding our community that even a £1 donation is a vital contribution to our collective goal.
- Direct Impact: These vital funds provide essential resources like food, clean water and so much more to those in desperate need.
