The Last 10 Days of Ramadan
April 22, 2022
The last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan are hugely significant for Muslims.
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated “When the last ten days of Ramadan came, the Messenger of Allah would stay up at night, wake up his family, strive hard, and tighten his waist belt.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
This encourages Muslims to also put in more effort and focus on our individual worship during this blessed time.
These last 10 nights are also when we seek Lailatul Qadr (The Night of Decree). This is the night the Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This night is better than 1000 months and every good deed is multiplied and holds greater reward. The sins of a Muslim are forgiven and it also provides a much needed spiritual focus that we struggle to get as we get busy in our lives. It is a night of spiritual power and value and this is why Muslims will seek it on all the odd nights of the last 10 days. Not knowing which night it is means we strive on each night and do as much worship and good as we can, and this includes giving charity.
You can automate your giving so you don’t miss any of the last nights and ensure you reap the benefits of this holy time in this life and in the hereafter.
We hope these last 10 days bring you peace and all your efforts are accepted, inshAllah!
